Genetic Counselor  

Duties and Responsibilities: These counselor help people and family that have genetic disorders and/or birth defects. They also help the one that may have this type of problem in the near future

·         Educate family members and discuss what is the best way to approach this problem
·         Examine families medical history to determine if there in danger
·         Assists families that don’t know how to deal with this problem
·         Conduct research on the types of disorders  

Salary: $25,000- $55,000

Education: Future Genetic Counselor should take challenging science and math classes during their high school years. They also will need to acquire and most graduates programs require a strong undergrad in biology, chemistry, and behavior science. Most states genetic counselors to be certified.
